Hello! I'm Maja [Ma-ya], a mixed-media, fiber, and textile artist. I explore ideas through color, texture, and form—turning imagination and intuition into creative, curious, and expressive pieces that invite connection and wonder. My art is a way for me to listen and respond—how I translate inner reflections and felt experiences into something tangible and touchable, such as soft sculptures, hand-stitched dolls, whimsical creatures, or abstract and non-representational art.
I work with a wide variety of materials and techniques, including hand sewing and stitching, knitting, embroidery, crochet, needle felting, drawing, painting, sculpting, fabric and paper manipulation, and dyeing—the list goes on. I develop my skills through countless hours of experimentation, transforming ideas into material form.
I share my passion for making and creating through tutorials that are designed to be thorough, clear, encouraging, and inspiring—so you can deepen your own creative journey.
Flow, my blog, is a space for reflecting, imagining, making, and experimenting. It’s a blend of creative explorations, tutorials, glimpses into my artistic process, and insights from the unseen—shared as guided visual meditations.
What I create changes and evolves as I do. I draw inspiration from nature, the turning of the seasons, visual meditation, shamanic journeys, vision quests, dreams, folklore, fantasy, science fiction, graphic novels, and video games. Still, inspiration knows no bounds and can come from anything and everything.
I live in Ireland with my husband and a bunch of cats with big personalities. Outside the studio, I enjoy gardening. I let my garden grow wild as much as possible, shifting naturally with the seasons. That same rhythm inspires how I approach creativity—each idea is like a seed that, when given space and freedom, can grow into something unexpected, untamed, and truly one of a kind.
Thank you for stopping by—may your creativity open the door to something magical and unexpected! 🖤
